In the period between 1st and 5th June, Croatian expert Ms. Anita Pokrovac and Dutch expert Mr. Wybe Douma continued to work on a draft version of new Law for Environmental Inspection, whose structure and main contents had been previously prepared during the mission 2.1.2. Findings of discussions with the relevant stakeholders, including representatives from ZELS, from the IPPC & EIA Units of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning (MoEPP), SEI Director and inspectors as well as a legal expert from MoEPP were accordingly included in a first complete draft for the Law for Inspection on Environment. Informal discussion took place as well with experts from the Technical Assistance project “Strengthening capacities for implementation of environmental legislation at local level”.
During the discussion with MoEPP IPPC experts it was considered as very useful if the existing Croatian translation of EU BAT Reference documents could be provided, and so was it done.
Next steps in the drafting of the new Law on Inspection on Environment and agenda for next mission 2.1.4 were discussed as well with the RTA.
