In the period between 22nd and 26th June 2015 Dutch experts Mr. Bram Segijn and Ms. Alena Groenen and Italian expert Mr. Romano Ruggeri performed a training needs assessment of environmental inspectors at central and local levels through interviews with state and local environmental inspectors as well with ZELS coordinator for trainings in the field of environment for municipalities in order to gather information about their needs and the most useful approaches to train them. An additional meeting with representatives from industries plus a visit to an industrial installation accompanying one SEI inspector were implemented to gather information about their interaction with inspectors, training needs that they have detected and the way that inspections are performed in practice.
Answers to a questionnaire previously delivered to state and local inspectors were analysed and taken as well into consideration for the preparation of the training needs assessment programme prepared by the experts.
You can download the training needs assessment report below.
First recommendations for the structure of the training programme and the agenda for next mission 1.3.2 were as well discussed with RTA.
An additional meeting was arranged with representatives of the Technical Assistance project “Strengthening Capacities for Implementation of Environmental Legislation at Local Level”, in order to exchange information and establish the basis for coordination of the training programmes of both projects.
