07.12.2015 | Mission 2.2.5: Training on environmental inspection cycle (including planning & reporting)

In the period from 30th of November till 4th of December 2015 Spanish expert Mr. José Francisco Alonso Picón and Dutch expert Mr. Marc du Maine within the mission 2.2.5 provided four one-day training sessions to four different target groups on the inspection cycle (including planning & reporting). In total 81 participants from different regions, including SEI and local authorised environmental inspectors, plus permit writers at local and central levels were trained in the different steps of the environmental inspection cycle according to EU best practices (planning, execution framework, execution and reporting, and performance monitoring). Mutual understanding of inspectors and permit writers of their areas of interaction within the inspection cycle was also promoted. Inspection impacts on: amendments to inspection programme/plan, amendments to permits, compliance promotion (suggestions to operator to improve environmental performance) were discussed during the training.

Training materials linked to the discussion of the inspection cycle were delivered to the participants.

In addition, the experts provided comments to the output from the mission 2.1.6 on indicators and methods to evaluate environmental inspectorates and inspectors. They provided as well, upon request from the Director of SEI, feedback about water fees in EU countries for the case of geothermal waters.
